Run with me
I’m a qualified personal trainer, England Athletics coach and nutritionist. From teenage mum to a FTSE 250 marketing director, now I’m in my 50s and like you I’ve run everything, now I run for me and want to help you do the same. I have run through a 7-years of peri-menopause ( and counting!) and just achieved a place in the Boston Marathon 2027. Everything is possible with the right approach and support. I’m here for you.

Frequently asked questions
How much time do I need to commit each week?
I can tailor plans to suit you and the time you have to commit. Every plan will have a balance of strength, plyometrics, running, recovery and basic nutrition advice. As a minimum I would suggest 3-4 hours per week as you will not see progress with anything less than this.
I have a few niggles, can I still run?
It depends, let’s have a chat about exactly what’s going on for you and I will recommend the best way forward for you.
I am peri-menopausal/menopausal and worried about zapping my energy further, can you still help me?
Weight training, running, adequate nutrition and recovery can actually increase your energy levels. I know only too well the temptation is to sit on the sofa for longer and try and preserve energy, particularly when hormones are disrupting your sleep. Everyone is different, but I am confident we can work together to help you feel more energised.
Do I have to run outside or can you put a plan together to include indoor running?
I can tailor your plan to include indoor and outdoors running. There are times when cross-training on the static bike or elliptical machine are also advisable. It really depends on what works best for you given circumstance. Let’s chat and I can work out the perfect plan for you.
Doesn’t running increase your propensity to gain and store fat in mid-life?
Bro-science BS! By approaching exercise in a balanced way ie.including weight training, running, recovery and adequate nutrition you are giving your body everything it needs to optimise your health and well-being. Many of my clients have lost body fat by following their bespoke programme.
What is true is that as cardio vascular fitness increases blood volume and in some people your lung capacity also increases; weight training regularly in a progressive manner will increase your muscle size.
Running does not make you fat!
